Idly preparation

Dear learners

It is very easy to prepare s0ft idly with south Indian taste.


Step I : Making Flour

Major ingredients enquired are: Boiled rice, Black gram and fenugreek.

Method of preparation: 1000 gm of good quality boiled is soaked in enough
quantity of water so that it is fully immersed in. 200 gm of blackgram along with
1 tea spoon (10 gm) fenugreek is soaked in enough water seperately.Both should be in
soaked state for 4 to 5 hours. After that blackgram along with fenugreek should be ground
for half an hour so that we would get fine flour. Then rice is to be ground for 20 minutes
so that we get nearly fine flour. Both flours are to be mixed and salt is added to taste.
It is to be mixed thoroughly with hand and kept idle for nearly 12 hours to get it sour.
Now the flour is ready. Flour should should not be watery.It should be thick for making idly.
The proportion of ingredients should be changed according to the quantity of flour you want.

Step II: Making Idly

Make ready Idly cooker with enough quantity of water. Pour enough amount
of flour in each depression in the idly pan. Boil the contents for 6 minutes till such time
if we touch the flour it shoud not stick to our finger. Now soft and tatsty idly is ready.
